Bonnie Bizzell, MBA, MEd

Currently, Bonnie serves as the chair for the Patient Advisory Board and participates on the executive committee for a $13 million PCORI research grant comparing antibiotics to surgery for appendicitis. Additionally, she is a family panel member for the Foundation for Health Care Quality’s Communication and Resolution Program promoting collaboration and transparency after unexpected medical events.  Previously, Bonnie served as a family advisor to UW Medical Center; she has presented twice at the Washington Medical Commission’s educational conference and has been published in BMJ Open and JAMA Surgery.

Professionally, Bonnie Bizzell is the Community Engagement Liaison and Program Manager for Honoring Choices Pacific Northwest (HCPNW), a joint initiative between the Washington State Hospital and Medical Associations. In her role, she works from grassroots to grasstops, from helping individuals with advance care planning (ACP) to building organizational value through ACP. She also oversees HCPNW’s social media and communications.

With an MBA and MEd, Bonnie’s passion is bettering the lives of all.  She is honored to be part of HealthAdvocateX, where advocacy is at the heart of improved medical care.
