I serve as a patient advocate primarily to the rare and/or connective tissue disorder community. Assisting individuals and families in setting up a system to handle the system and structure aspects of living with a chronic or rare healthcare condition. Maggie Buckley has been a patient advocate for more than 28 years while living with the chronic pain condition Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. She has served on the boards of several non-profit patient and professional organizations including her current role with PainCommunity.org. Her volunteer experience has been with a varied group of non profit organizations in the healthcare, social justice and education sectors. She has testified at local, state and federal policy hearings, written articles and coached hundreds of people to self-advocate for better care. Maggie has an MBA in accounting with experience in banking and business management. In 2019 she became a Board Certified Patient Advocate.
