Navigating the Continuum of Care: Rehabilitation after Traumatic Brain Injury
This presentation discusses the rehabilitation care of a client after sustaining a traumatic brain injury. The importance of initial diagnosis and evaluation to inform the plan of care is reviewed. The delivery of care within an inpatient multidisciplinary team is discussed as well as how needs are anticipated and met following the inpatient rehabilitation level of care.

About The Speaker –

Ben Ingraham is an attending physician with the CNS Medical Group at Craig Hospital in Englewood, CO. He primarily takes care of patients with traumatic and non-traumatic brain injuries in the inpatient rehabilitation setting. He also is involved in acute care consultation, brain injury program development and medical education. Ben was born and raised in Aurora, IL. He completed his undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. He then went medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University. Ben completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation and his fellowship in brain injury medicine at Northwestern University and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. Following training, he worked as an assistant professor at the University of Utah and the Craig H Neilsen Rehabilitation Hospital, where he treated brain injured patients across the continuum of care. After three years at the University of Utah, he began work at Craig Hospital. Ben is married to his wife, Jamie, who he met in medical school and who is an internist. They have two children, Ethan and Sadaya. He enjoys hiking, skiing, golfing, sports and coin collecting in his free time.
