This conversation will include: why attending to the amygdala – the brain’s fight or flight center – is so important; multiple strategies and tools to support effective communication with a person with dementia; approaches to assess and address the moment-to-moment changes in abilities and understanding. She will also offer self-care strategies for well partners, those caring for the person with dementia.
