Dr. Nicole T. Rochester is a professional health advocate, TEDx and keynote speaker, and the CEO of Your GPS Doc, LLC, an innovative healthcare advocacy and consulting company committed to helping individuals with chronic or complex illnesses and family caregivers understand and navigate the complicated healthcare system. After practicing pediatrics for almost 20 years, Dr. Rochester was inspired to start her company after caring for her late father and witnessing the complicated healthcare system from the other side of the stethoscope.
Dr. Rochester leverages her medical knowledge and expertise, health care system experience, and professional network to explain complex terminology, prepare clients for upcoming appointments/procedures/hospital stays, bridge communication gaps, research treatment options, and facilitate the provision of timely and appropriate care. As someone who has both worked in and has personal experience navigating our broken healthcare system, Dr. Rochester offers a unique balance of technical knowledge and heart-centered, empathic communication.
A Maryland native, Dr. Rochester obtained her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She is a member of HealthAdvocateX and the Alliance of Professional Health Advocates. She enjoys reading, attending concerts, walking in nature, and spending time with her two young adult daughters.
